In August 2025, Turkish steel enterprises increased steel production by 7.9% compared to August 2024 and by 6.7% compared to the previous month, to 3.39 million tons. This is evidenced by data from the World Steel Association. Pig iron production in the country increased by 14.1% m/m and 0.8% y/y to 891 thousand tons last month. During January-August, Turkey’s steel industry increased steel production by 0.2% compared to the same period in 2024, to 24.88 million tons. Pig iron production for the period fell by 10.8% y/y, to 6.19 million tons.
